Social innovation is a process in which local communities build social and cultural capital to address challenges and social needs. The diffusion of social innovation requires compelling narratives that encourage people to join them. Using qualitative techniques and a multiple case study methodology, this paper examines the content of narratives of social innovation in rural areas and how actors construct, spread and change them. The present article is about the use of biographic methods and oral history, and its contribution to developing processes of critical reflection and reflexivity. It is based on a set of oral data collected from Portuguese social workers who played an active role in the revolutionary phase during the transition from dictatorship to democracy in Portugal (following the 25th April 1974 military coup). In this paper, we have used the exceptional circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic as a window for investigating the ambivalent, stereotypical and often-incongruent portrayals of exceptional vulnerability and resilient self-management that define the self-constructions available for older adults. Stories of professional development in physiotherapy education

This study examines graduating physiotherapy students’ narratives related to their professional development. The data comprised interviews with 33 graduating physiotherapy students. The data were analyzed using the narrative analysis approach. As a result, five different story models were identified. In Finland, one of the Nordic countries, shared parenting is widely supported through, e.g. family policies and legislation. Narrative Study of Teacher Students' Experiences on an Experimental Chemistry Field Course in Finland

2017

The aim of this study was to investigate chemistry teacher students’ experiences of an experimental chemistry field course. A narrative approach was used because the aim was to obtain authentic reports. The study participants (N = 8) had all taken part in an experimental chemistry field course between 2013 and 2015. The teacher students reported that once they had participated in the field course, they were ready to teach science outside the classroom with students in future. Without the field course, they would be less likely to do so. The results indicate that chemistry teacher students feel they need more training in different learning environments. peerReviewed
